OPENING DOORS TO CREATIVITY, COLLECTIVITY, AND RELATIONALITY

October 2025

Across Europe, languages thrive in unexpected places — in the hum of a butcher’s shop, the rhythm of a regueifa performance, the motion of a training session, the glow of a phone screen in northern Norway. The MultiLX project examines these traces, documenting how minority languages are lived, felt, and reimagined in everyday life.

TWO DAYS IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

September 2025

We met in the morning and discussed the progress and plans of the Santiago de Compostela case study. Paula talked about a very busy Summer of data collection, amongst other things following a regueifa band to festivals and performances…

Finding Our Collective Voice

August 2025

In late April 2025, researchers from across Europe all gathered in-person for the first time at the University of Warwick to begin an ambitious journey together. While some of us had met before – in conferences, on Zoom calls, or on other shared projects – this was our first time in the same physical space…

TWO DAYS IN BERLIN

July 2025

TWO DAYS IN BARCELONA

July 2025

Before the research team meets, Barcelona is already asking questions. Like Porta Palazzo Market in Turin, the huge Encants Market opens out before us. Here hundreds of stalls display their wares: vintage shirts and skirts, paintings, antique jewellery, second-hand shoes, football jerseys, ornaments, lamps, clocks, watches, telephones, megaphones, bicycles, perfumes, cosmetics, postcards…

TWO DAYS IN LUCERNE

July 2025

The moment the train arrives into Lucerne, links to the rest of the world through art and sport are apparent.  Three football fixtures for the Women’s Euro 2025 championships will be held in the city while posters about the upcoming Women’s World Rowing Cup immediately catch our eye as we walk from the station to the hotel.  Expected are 43 nations to compete in the ‘Lake of the Gods’.

TWO DAYS IN TURIN

June 2025

Over two days in Turin we visit multiple research sites and speak to key personnel in organisations which work to value the talents and capital of people on the move and people in neighbourhood communities. We engage in lengthy conversations with creative practitioner activists. We also discuss plans for the Turin case study.
